To begin with the U.S. Navy SEALs go through the most intesive Military Training in the world. This training is called BUD/s. BUD/s stands for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEALs. BUD/s is located in Cornado California. It is a Challenging and Rewarding training program which requires an individual to be self motivated and physically fit. As a BUD/s Student you will participate in Challenging training and have opportunities to develop and test your stamina and leadership. in order to pass BUD/s you have to be strong both physically and mentally. With great preparation and a positive attitude you can beat the challenges. At BUD/s 110% is required of you everyday. BUD/s is a great challenge, but with the right attitude it will be the most rewarding time of your life. The BUD/s course is divided up into four Phases, one Pre-BUD/s school and one Post-BUD/s School. We will start with
Phase One (Basic Conditioning):
The first phase is eight weeks long. In this phase you will work in different areas to get you fit for the upcoming phases. You will Swim, Run, and do Calisthenics. As the weeks pass each of the excercises gets harder and harder. Students will have to participate in four mile runs every week. They will get timed doing the Obstacle course, and they will swim up to two miles. In the fifth week you will go through the famous "HELL WEEK". During this week you will go through continuous training for 5 and a half days. You will only get about 4 hours of sleep during this week if your lucky. Hell Week is designed to test ones physical and mental motivation. It proves that the body can do 10 times the amount of work the average person thinks possible.
Next Is Phase Two (Diving):
After Phase One you have proven to the instructors that you are motivated and able to continue training. This Phase is the diving phase and it lasts seven weeks. During this period of time the physical training continues, and gets harder. This phase focuses on Combat SCUBA. Students are taught two ways to dive: Open circuit and closed circuit. The skills you learn will qualify you as a combat diver.
Next Phase Three (Land Warfare):
The Demolitions, Reconnaissance, Weapons and Tactics Phase is ten weeks long. The physical training again gets harder and harder. This phase focuses on teaching land navigations, small-unit tactics, rapelling, military land and underwater explosives and weapons training. The last four weeks of this phase is spent on San Clemete Island, where students apply the techniques they have learned during the training.
The Next Thing is Pre-BUD/s School

This five day course, is held at the Naval Training Command, It is offered to all active duty Naval enlisted personnel from the fleet, Service Schools, and Boot Camp.Requirements for the course are the same as the ones for BUD/s.
